I doubt it krub. Tan Chong has been saying that for many years. Actually, it was Malaysia. Using the same factory as its Nissan. However, it needs volumn of at least 5,000 a year to be feasible.
I would buy one if they can assemble it any where in AFTA zone. Reasonable pricing for a Forester 2.0 is 1.2 million, Forester 2.5 is 1.5 - 1.6 million, and Forester turbo is 1.9 - 2 million bahts.
Forester 2.5 N/A would be most suitable to drive, considering vehicle weight and fuel consumption. Surprisingly, MIT does not import them.
Although, if price where equivalent to those in the U.S., then Forester 2.5 turbo is about the same as Accord 2.4, which is around 1.6 million bahts.
For anyone that can not wait, a Honda CRV is a
alternative krub. Money saved can be spend on fuel.
ps. I booked my flight on May 19th krub.
