Eligible Cars
◊GT500
The cars conforming the 2009 JAF National Technical Regulations Edition 1 Chapter 8 Grand Touring Car (JAF-GT500) Regulations and that are exceptionally accepted by the GTA.
◊GT300
The cars conforming to the 2009 JAF National Technical Regulations Chapter 7 and the Technical Regulations approved by the GTA within the A~F classification determined by the GTA and described below.
(A) FIA/JAF/ACO homologated cars, JAF registered cars (mass production base)
(B) All mass production not included in the classification A
(C) Small production (original cars which can be used legally on the open road)
(D) One product (Prototype cars)
(E) FIA GT1>2
(F) FIA GT3
The same chassis must be used throughout the entire season. Chassis may be changed, after approval from GTA, when an irreparable accident has occurred in the race or testing during the season. A separate rule will be defined for cars exceptionally accepted by the GTA.
Penalties will be imposed when chassis have been changed during the season. When a car changes chassis before the end of the Official Qualifying session, the car will go down 10 positions from its original result. When a car changes chassis after the end of the Official Qualifying session, the car will start the race 10 positions down from its original result on the starting grid.
For GT500 vehicles, a car must use one engine for 4 or more races consecutively. The 6th round Suzuka event is counted as 2 races.
Spare cars must not be used.
