http://www.iwsti.com/forums/3292562-post17.htmlFirst and foremost all the major "off the shelf" manufacturers have chosen to go with softer rates on the rear of this chassis due to pleasing the "general perceived enthusiast. So that's why. While we think we are a large group of people we aren't so they have to make sure that for the average Joe they get the comfort right.
For us who track these cars and care about how they really handle we have to always do something to them to get them the way we like/want them to be.
With that said Joshua did the right thing with his rates and I have driven on that set up and it is SOOO much better than the soft rear off the shelf Ohlins rates.
As for what the OP feels coming out of corners....I can't make any suggestions until you can explain it better. I think its the front diff you feel.
As I have said for years as we grow as drivers sometimes we have to be able to "UNTHINK" the technical and "FEEL" the car,..but NOT both.....just until we get some direction of a handle on things. I see my driving students ( especially in this era of data) overthink their driving based on data. Data is awesome, but only once your driving and your ability to KNOW exactly what the car is doing. When mixed it clouds your thinking and you wont progress and you will throw alot of parts at the car.
To the OP: don't take this the wrong way. I am sure you are an excellent driver and I don't know you, BUT.....I need ( anyone who can help here) needs more info from you as to what the car and more importantly what YOU feel, the car is doing from apex to track out.
That's key.
I got your pm, but feel free to call me if you can and we can talk and go over some things. The first thing your setup needs is FIRMER rear rates. You cant do this with 400lb rear springs and 500lb front springs on a GR chassis. Thats like putting a band aid on shaving cut with a ax in your chest.
Lets fix the AX first, and at least do some 500lb rear springs, OR more....550 even 600. The balance would be 550.
